while starting an service from Broadcast receiver the start service routine must be context.startService(myIntent);

Hi…I’m not sure about that as I’ve never used PhoneGap, you’d have to check their docs….though to be honest, I’d say if you want to write an app that uses background services, you’ll probably be better off just writing a native app rather than using PhoneGap.
