MorseRing brings intelligence to your smart phone’s caller id. Usually when you receive a number, the text of the person’s name or number is displayed on the phone. That’s great, but if you’re across the room that doesn’t help much. MorseRing is a Morse code ringtone that takes your caller id to the next level by beeping out the caller’s name or number using Morse code! Additionally, if you’re the only who understands the code, then no one else will know who’s calling! It’s a great way to learn and practice Morse code.
Features:
- Blink option
- Vibrate option
- Begin message sequence (so that you can listen for the Morse)
- Default message to use when no number is available
- Customizable speed
- Customizable tone
- Implements international Morse code
- Beeps out the caller’s name if they are in your contact list
- Beeps out the caller’s number if they are not in your contact list
If you have any comments or suggestions, I’d love to hear them!
Installation/Setup Steps:
- Download/install app
- Run app from programs menu
- Make sure that sure that the ‘Enable Ringtone’ setting is checked
- In the system’s ringtone list (or for a given contact), select
‘MorseRing Ringtone’ as the ringtone
Norwegian characters.
Hello.
I just got this app, and I just figured out that norwegian characters are not sent as morsecode.
I.E. the character “ø” or “Ø” should be “—.”, and the same with æÆ and åÅ (.-,- and .–.-)
I guess other languages as german or russian has special characters as well.
Would it be possible for the user to define special character vs morsecode as an option?

The “MorseRing Ringtone” wont showing up in Ringtones group on my new SAMSUNG Galaxy GT-I9070 :(((
What is the speed range for audio?
Hi,
A couple things – when I installed in, the above instructions don’t quite work (my ringtone list doesn’t show MorseRing as a choice) – I just chose the ‘silent’ ringtone and it seems to do the right thing.
The other issue is that sometimes the morsering keeps ringing after I’ve picked up the phone. Usually I can still hear the caller, but it’s quite annoying when it happens. I haven’t yet figured out why sometimes it keeps ringing and sometimes it works correctly. Odd.
Regards,
Eric
Very nice, but why does the new version require internet access? I won’t update until a channel with a reason is given… luckily the old version works fine but sometimes the Morse code.keeps playing for a second or two after I answer a call. Hearing the name of the caller in CW is awesome. I use 35 WPM and copy it easily.
As LA4VGA pointed out above, there are some special charachters in various languages. I myself would like letters Ä and Ö and also question mark ?
Are these possible in future versions of morsering?

Hello,
It is not working properly on the Galaxy S3. Does not show ringtone in the Ringtones group. Now I hear the Morse code and the ring tone. . . . Not good.
I would request the developer if this can be fixed. Or otherwise to refund the purchase.
Assistance would be much appreciated.

Hello,
i have just installed it on the new Galaxy S4.
The ringtone ist not shown in the ringtones menu. i have selected the ringtone “silence” instead. Nevertheless some kind of Morse tone is hearable, but it is not a clear Sound. Sometimes I hear a clear Sound für the first 2 seconds, but all the other trials do not produce a usefull morse code. It is more a kind of Scratching or klicking.
Would be happy to receive an “S4″ update. If you like i do some beta testing.
Best regards
Tom
It rings a bit after answering the call _ of course right to ear
maybe adding setting to auto decrease volume after taking phone?
